The Soup Run involves walking along the streets of London at night and offering out a cup of tea or coffee and a sandwich, and spend some time with and talk to people.
The majority of homeless people are isolated, at best they are ignored, and at worst they are abused. To have a conversation with those who have been socially excluded is to see them as fellow human beings. It is a start to building trust where there is an expectation of fear and disapproval, and where prejudice and discrimination are faced every day.

“The Soup Run is hugely eye opening. The Simon van (yes it is a great big van for all of you who ever dreamed of being in the A-Team) is stocked with donations from Pret, M & S and other kind souls.
The evening is full of good banter and with many very 'happy' and 'content' homeless and often exceedingly hungry gentleman and ladies.
In a selfish way, I must say that I feel that I gain even more on a personal and spiritual level than the people that I am helping to feed. Some of them have hit rock bottom, but they are 'rolling with the punches' and taking 'each minute, rather than each day' that it comes. They take nothing for granted and put faith in themselves (and many in G-d) to protect/guide themselves.
I would highly recommend you volunteer for the Soup Run."
